What does Hiatus even Mean?

Its true. I'm on my way to Senior year, and I've got more important things to work on than a Pokemon Fancomic. Oh well.

Happy Half-Birthday Give or Take 13 Days!

So Friday was a very good day. See, my computer has been broken for about a week, so my uncle (who is a computer whiz) took it to his house to fix. He hit some roadbumps, and it looked like i'd be computerless. But then, out of the blue, he calls me over to his house. So yesterday i go over, and he has BOUGHT ME A NEW COMPUTER. Technically its not new, its a windows xp, but thats a HUGE upgrade from windows 2000! Its amazingly better.
So, after that i throw my half-birthday party. I do half-birthday parties because January is a bad month for parties. anyhow, and my buddies Andy, Tim, and Filippo all pitch in for a gift...
A brand new tablet!! That literally takes care of the two main things i needed to save up for! All in one day!!

Plus the party was very fun, here's a picture.
I'M A MOTHERFUCKIN' SHARK!!

Anyhow, here's the new comic, click to read the whole thing.
This is the first comic i've drawn since the trip, and i'm a little rusty, but i think its pretty well done. Hope you like.

I Have Returned

I'm back from my trip! And boy what a trip it was! For those of you who forgot, I've been in Europe for the past two and a half weeks. It was a mainly educational trip, so I thought I would share my wealth of newly-acquired knowledge with you.

First of all, Europeans do not know how to cook. Their food is so bland, it makes vanilla look like an explosion of flavor. Rarely will you find salt or pepper, much less ketchup or mustard, in a restaurant. Salad comes naked, and meat unseasoned. Every liquid in Europe comes scalding or luke-warm. Ice does not exist.
France is largely populated by furries. One can deduct this by walking down any street or watching any channel on television. Your mind will be bombarded with images of sexy, scantily-clad anthro-animals. Be it deer, dolphins, bears, raccoons, jellyfish, dogs, cats, even cacti and bamboo. You will see it all, and you will see alot of what you see, if you know what i mean. These scantily-clad freaks of nature are the advertisement of Orangina, an admittedly delicious orange drink that puts Fanta to shame. But at least Fanta advertises with sexy HUMANS.
Museum guards, even the Swiss army at the Vatican, are complete pushovers and wimps. Signs reading "no cameras alowed," or "no speaking in the Sisteen Chalpel," are totally irrelevant. The guards will stand by, idly watching as the Sisteen Chalpel mosh pit ensues, lit by the ceasless, damaging flash of one thousand uncaring, felonous cameras.
Air conditioning is provided in most hotels. They quite effectively turn a 100 degree room into an 80 degree room. And a job well done.

Oh but it wasnt all bad. I really truly did enjoy myself.
See, look at how happy I am in that photo. At least... I think I'm in that photo...
Where am I...

Oh well! No new comic this week, but its in the making for next week so GET PUMPED.

European Vacation

Today I'm leaving for my vacation in Europe. I'll be visiting England, France, and Italy. It's sure to be a blast, and i'll try to post some pictures when a computer is available. I'll be gone until the 6th of July, so until then there will be no comics.

But before I go, i thought i'd post a short mini-comic that follows up on the previous episode of Matt and Karl. Click to read the whole thing.

Well, I will return on the 6th, wish me luck!

6/14/09

Blah, i have nothing interesting to say.
Here is the new comic, click to read the whole thing.

6/7/09

Pages and Pages

I'm a week into summer and its awesome.

Anyway, that whole thing with the "three pages a week" idea. not gonna happen. I did the math and realized i'd finish less than three comics all summer!

So I'm still giving you a full comic every week, but they will be presented in multiple pages instead of one huge column.

Sorry, no new comic this week, its taken a while to separate all these pages.

Click on this page to check out the new single page format! And dont forget to go read last week's episode now that it's not all screwed up! Notice that the archive under the comic is divided into CHAPTERS. Each of these chapters represents one full episode.

Oh My God...

So today I thought I'd give you guys a treat and color my comic REALLY REALLY WELL.
But I used one too many eggs in the cake batter and it turned out like crap.

Explanation: I colored the comic with GIMP, which is like photoshop, and shaded pretty much every surface, using gradients for many as well. It took eight hours because of the length (12 pages!) and because of the work involved. When i began to put it together onto one big column, it was too big for my computer to handle.
Long story short, had to convert it to gif TWICE, which RUINED it.

Lesson learned: I am going to start releasing in pages from now on. This will begin next week. I should have done this a long time ago. They will release monday, wednesday, and friday in this form. This next week will be spent converting all my comics to pages and redownloading them to the site. WOO FUN.

Anyways, this is messed up but its legible, here's this week's comic. Click to read the whole thing.

Week 4 Without Comics

So project # 2 is complete, and here it is in really small almost illegible comic form!
Click to read!

So! Originally the plan was that I would be posting a comic next week. Its gonna be iffy.
You see, I still technically have drivers ed for two more days, and I have another project due on thursday.
Worry not, I have a comic half finished from a long time ago, so I might just finish and post it. BUT it might not happen if I get super busy.
Just so you know.

Tomorrow is my final Student Ambassador meet, and on June 20(ish) I'll be flying off to England! And then France! And then Italy!
I'll be taking a million pictures, and I might even set up a twitter to keep you guys clued in.

In other news, I am also considering switching sites. This blog sort of bugs me because of the narrowness of the actual posting area. I'll be testing out a new site, and who knows? Maybe I'll be switching over.

Week 3 Without Comics

ONLY TWO WEEKS LEFT UNTIL COMICS!!

And I had another filler comic drawn, but I hate it so I'm going to post other crap instead!

Yesterday I borrowed my buddy Terra's tablet to help with a project I'm doing for English. And so, so practice, I drew like a ton of pictures.

I drew this first one on paint and then colored on gimp.

This second one is entirely gimp, playing with layers
This third one is my very first oekaki post ever.
This fourth one is my second oekaki post ever. It was quickly removed because it wasnt "skilled" enough for two star boards. Also it didnt meet the theme criteria, which was "anime."
Some "SolarBear" asshole left a comment on my first ever oekaki post that said "you ought to spend more time on your art." I would not take this insult lying down, so i quickly whipped this drawing up. It was removed from the site ten seconds later.
Here's a self portrait which served as my fourth oekaki post ever. miraculously this one wasnt blocked.

My fifth oekaki post was done on a "mystical creature" themed board. This was promptly deleted because there were "no humanoid creatures alowed" Its a freaking monkey, jesus. I am currently fighting for its return to the board.

This self portrait was posted in a different oekaki board because i was pissed.

I drew this this morning, right after i learned of the most recent of deletions.
This picture acually wasnt drawn with the tablet. I drew it on paper and then colored using gimp and a mouse. Didnt have a date for prom DX

This one also didnt have any tablet involved. You'll notice how amazingly better these are. I just need time.

Aside from these pictures, I also made an amazing video! And the embed is aparently being gay, so here's a link instead! How Gay is That? This video is one of the many projects that i had to do for school that prompted me to STOP MAKING COMICS. So this is a product of these weeks without comics!

Also, you'll notice that there are a bunch of new "Other Comics." I posted all my old comics in there for your enjoyment! Hope you like!

5/3/09

Week 2 Without Comics

And what a fabtabulous two weeks its been!!!

So yeah, that last filler comic was posted pretty badly, so here's some REAL links! Click on the icons to read the whole comics!

Week 1 Without Comics

So yeah, there will be no comics for three more weeks. Except for these short crappy ones.

Busy Busy Busy

So Friday we all went to see the Globetrotters in action. I have mixed feelings about it. Yes, they were cool, and yes, they were funny. But I feel like the raw talent that previous generations of globetrotters had has been lost. Aw well.

Saturday a bunch of family came over and we celebrated my little brother's birthday AND had a wedding shower for my cousin and her fiance. It was alot of fun, we played tons of cards and cornhole and the like. I ate way too much food and it was a blast.

Today I have a Student Ambassador meeting which takes up about 5 hours. But I always enjoy myself, and I have to attend every meeting or I dont get to go to Europe, so its not so bad.
So this weekend hasnt been so bad except for one thing.

I GOT NOTHING DONE.

Monday I start driving lessons, which is two or three times a week, I forget. I have a film project due May 1st, and I havent even BEGUN to start filming. I dont even have location contracts. That, and I've got a huge Student Ambassador project that is also due in May. I am swamped, and I got none of it done. And is my neighbor staring at me right now through my window, or is he staring at something else?

Good he's gone. That was creepy.

Anyway, because of my new after school scedual and work and projects, I have to take a week off from comics. My time needs to be spent on getting all this crap done.

That doesnt mean there isnt a new comic today though.

Just click on the image to enlarge it! I am very happy about this comic. I havent drawn a King-Dumb comic in a very long time, and the last one was just plain terrible.
Anyways, sorry to all of you who were waiting with bated breath for the next Matt and Karl, but its going to take a bit longer than usual.

Bring'n Every Girl and Boy Baskets Full of Easter Joy.

Happy Easter everyone! Oh and what an Easter it has become. I'm already full of candy, but I still have half a basket and a huge chocolate bunny to go. Yum!

Not a very festive comic this week, don't say I didn't warn you.
So this mini-story we're doing for Matt and Karl is taking much longer than I had originally planned. In the beginning this was supposed to be finished in two episodes, but instead its looking like its going to take five. But STAY TUNED!

I was originally going to have my Lozer Zone Round 1 entry finished by today, but we got a two week extension, so now I can work on other stuff!
Expect a new King-Dumb Comic next week, followed by the Round 1 entry after that.

I am also taking the music off the site. It kinda bugs me and I realized that many of the songs on the playlist are the LIVE VERSIONS, which, in my book, are worse in every way.

Sigh... Spring Break is over. Not only that, but on April 20th I begin my driving school. With that added to the rest of my week, comics will become iffy. I plan on posting SOMETHING each week, but the comics may be sub-par and overly cropped to save time. Ah well.

4/6/09

I Have Music Now

Unless your computer is muted, you should be able to hear music right now. One of my favorite things in life is music, so I thought I'd share some with you! The playlist is quite varied, both in genre and time period. I do warn you that there are a few explicit songs in the list, so if that poses a problem you should probably mute it or wear headphones. You can also pause any songs by scrolling to the bottom where the app is located. That being said, I think there's really only one song you should worry about, and its called Earth Day. I wouldn't have included it if it wasnt one of my favorite songs.
Its on shuffle, so hopefully you'll hear a nice variety every time you visit the site! If you have any musical suggestions, feel free to tell me and I'll probably add them to the playlist.

Le Yawn

So I've been posting saturday nights anymore because I have no time to post on sundays.

We're making alot of progress on the bathroom, we just replaced the floor after tearing it out to do some plumbing.

Last night I stayed up till 6:30 playing a variety of videogames with friends. I'm running on empty. This explains the random pointless, topicless drivel that I've written above and am sure to write below.

Listening to the new Decemberists album, The Hazards of Love, and I'm very impressed. Here's a little sample

Okay! On to the comic! I've been working on my round one battle for Lozer Zone, but there's no way I could have finished today, so I quickly drew a different comic just so I'd have something to show. Its a pretty short one, and its only mildly amusing, but I dont care.
Well, its time for sleep, good night!

3/28/09

So Busy

So working every weekend is taking alot out of me. But don't worry, the money makes it all worth it!

New Matt and Karl this week, and I'm rather proud of it. A couple of new characters. The blonde one is named Kris and the other is named Juana. Dunno if you've noticed so far, but all of the characters' names have come from the starting name options on all the pokemon games.

Speaking of Pokemon, me and my buddy Madison (co-writer of Matt and Karl) recently discovered that we both bad-mouth enemy pokemon while playing the games. Not only that, but we also make our own pokemon feel better if they ever lose or mess up. Does anybody else do this? Vote, and we'll find out just how pathetic and lonely my audience really is!

Also, this week I was going to do a new King-dumb Comic, but I realized that I have to draw my entry for round one of Lozer Zone. So expect that next week.

Well, I need sleep. I'm going to be plumbing all day tomorrow!

3/21/09

A WWII Week

We just finished watching Shindler's List in American History a few days ago, and I must say, it's now my #2 favorite movie. #1 being Gangs of New York.
And yesterday me and my friends discovered Nazi Zombies on Call of Duty 5, and its definitely the best zombie themed game I've ever played. That said, I suck at it. Nobody wants to be on my team. *cry*

Anyhow, here's this week's comic, and don't forget you have to CLICK TO READ THE WHOLE THING. Apparently there was some confusion last week. I'm looking at YOU, Alex.
This comic is about what happened last weekend when we tried to buy a screen protector for Madison. Its pretty accurate except we were very polite, and instead of screaming we just timidly placed it back on the shelf and left without a word.
But there was much angry muttering on the way home, let me tell you.

3/15/09

Lungs Full of Dust

I finally got a job. Starting yesterday, I'll be helping my uncle tear down and rebuild his master bathroom every Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 6. Needless to say this really cuts into my weekend, but I need the money. But worry not, comics will still be every Sunday.

We've spent the last couple days tearing down the walls, which involves hitting the drywall with a hammer really hard over and over until its gone. Drywall is full of chalk, and the dust fills the room in a matter of minutes, with or without the industrial wall fan. Hence the title.

New Matt and Karl this week. It may seem sort of unfinished, and thats because its only half of what the original comic was going to include. I've divided it into two separate pages. Just a heads-up, the storyline is going to pick up pretty soon. While this technically isnt a storyline-driven comic, every now and then there will be little short stories that pop up. These stories will probably pop up more and more often as the series goes on.

Also, happy St. Patrick's day! This is a rather festive comic, seeing as it takes place in Viridian City, or in other words, the Evergreen City. And before you ask, no. I had no clue this comic would line up like that.

So lately I've been playing Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, as you know. And because of this, I have been in a very Final Fantasy mood. So a few days ago I began playing plain ol' Final Fantasy VII using my friend's PS1 and a very small television. I have a PS2, but my brothers are always on it so I had to get it set up in my room. I bidded for the PC version for a couple days, but I gave up. That is a very expensive game.

Expect another addition of Other Comics next Sunday, followed by a new Matt and Karl. After that I might just make a new King-dumb Comic. Its been a long time.

3/8/09

An Eventful Weekend

So, for those of you who don't know, I had my wisdom teeth taken out this past friday. The top two were just pulled, but the bottom two had to be cut, resulting in lots of stitches. It wasn't too bad, but I had to miss seeing Watchmen with my friends. Hopefully I'll get to see it next weekend.

I've pretty much spent my whole weekend playing Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core for the PSP, and I must say I'm impressed. Its very fun, the background music is awesome, and the cutscenes are incredible. Sadly, however, I'm afraid that I might almost be done, so I've been stalling.
Dont worry though, I didn't spend the ENTIRE weekend lazing about playing video games! I also spent that time MAKING video games! I've spent about 1/3 of my time this weekend working diligently to get a demo finished of my brand-new game, Ultimate Warrior. Pretty much the premise is that you could, if you really wanted to, immediately fight the final boss. You just wont beat him. So pretty much you have to explore the world, gaining experience and learning new attacks until you feel like you're ready to take him on! Hopefully I'll have a demo for you guys around April, there's still alot to do.

Knowing that I wouldn't have much time, I made a shorter comic this week. This comic is based off a real phone conversation we had in the car with my buddy Alex. The dialogue is about 80% correct, because I had to guess at what Alex was thinking. Click to read the whole thing.
This week is going to be iffy. I've got a huge paper to write for English, plus the other homework I get daily. I'm going to try for a new Matt and Karl, but don't be suprised if you get another short filler comic like this last one.
So until next week, I'm signing off!

3/1/09

Contest

Above is the comic for this week. The link will take you to the Deviantart image, because I havent uploaded this comic into DrunkDuck. It doesnt fit into any of my categories.
Its my audition for a contest called Lozer Zone. In this contest, I enter my original character in, and I have to draw them fighting and losing each battle. This is different, because usually you have to make your character win. The contest is being held by SelectHumor Anyways, hope you like. The colors on the last panel arent quite right, because my computer is darker.

So Friday night I watched Donny Darko with my friends, and let me tell you, it was great. That said, I'm not going to pretend like I understood it. I got a good 80%. If anyone wants to try to explain everything, go right ahead. But what was great about the movie was the fact that, even though I didn't understand it, it was still very entertaining. The complexity, even when it went over my head, made the movie a completely different experience from anything else I've ever watched. Everyone should watch it.

2/22/09

It has Begun

SO! Its finally ready! Myles McCoy has launched his SWEET COMIC WEBSITE!

And to celebrate, I've got a coupla' comics for you.

<--Here is the official first Excitement Abounding comic. I have always wanted to start a comic site on a very optimistic note, so that someday, when I'm down and out, I can look back to my first comic and say, "You know what, I was right." And the resulting burst of confidence would be like a jump-start, and I'd start making comics again!

And here's the long-awaited (I hope) 3rd Matt and Karl comic! Click to read the whole thing!

A few more things. If you have already clicked and read these comics, you will have noticed that they lead to a different site. You might also notice that you can join this site and essentially skip over this site, choosing to ONLY read comics from that site. PLEASE DON'T.

First of all, I'm not terribly fond of that site. Its called DrunkDuck, and it seems okay enough, but I'd rather if you'd just read my comics off of it and NEVER GO BACK AGAIN.

My original intention was to use Keenspot, but they have a 500kb cap. This is actually the reason why this has taken so long, for now I have to convert all my comics to the .gif format. And even when they're a .gif (the smallest filetype, believe me, I've tried) they're still too large. So I had to settle with a lesser site.
By the way, special thanks to Clockwork92, my very good friend who has been converting my comics for me with his wonderful photoshop!

Also, the commenting system is bad on DrunkDuck. Its annoying and cumbersome to read comments on my comics when on that site. It also isnt very responce-friendly. So if you want to comment, COMMENT HERE.

Now that that's settled, I'm happy to say that this site SHOULD have a new comic every sunday! I'll post here with a link to the next comic, but if you ever just want to browse previous ones, just click on the icons to the right. Those links will take you to the most recent comic in the series, and from there you can use the next/previous buttons to navigate to the comic you desire.

SO! I'll see you next week with another abundance of exitement!
