The Prince of Tides
Goodness gracious, I have never read a book like The Prince of Tides. I feel all these confused feelings and I'm all irritable all the time. Why are you doing this to me, Pat Conroy? Why is your book so goddamn awesome? Why is your book so goddamn scary?

I've never read that one, but I never have heard it described that way before. What makes it so good and scary?
The book is crazy. One moment, I'll be fighting back the tears from something extremely touching or happy, and next page you're afraid to continue because of something disturbing or shocking or scary. What makes that even crazier is that he is usually talking about the same subject, and is able to make you feel all those things about the same object.
